SERRATUS BAR

The Serratus Bar is a hybrid training device that combines the ergonomics of a serratus push-up with the movement of an ab roller. As the name suggests, the tool targets the serratus anterior, often referred to as the “boxer’s muscle” due to its role in scapular control and shoulder stabilization. There is a recessed profile along the handle that allows users to isolate wall slides, while also enabling the device to be used on the floor as an ab roller. I added a conceptual touch to the design through its camouflage-inspired form, drawing on the iconography of exposed effort and military apparatus. The piece has been fabricated as a full-scale physical prototype.
