ITAL

Working with abstract environmental journalism through the physical embodiment of Florence and Siena, I explore the architectural skin of Italy through tile while engaging with geo-ergonomic forms that influence the viewer’s perception. The work creates a surrealist melting of architecture, agriculture, and monumentality, using tessellations of vegetation and low-poly 2D graphics inspired by San Andreas to create a fragmented, digital aesthetic.

This approach also informs the functional and sensory aspects of the work, creating a division between perception, scrutiny, and physical interaction. I use materials and digital tools such as Polycam, Grasshopper, and Rhino to develop and manipulate these forms, translating environmental and architectural references into a surreal, low-poly landscape.
